DJI Osmo Pocket 3 4K/120 Explained: Slow Motion Only and the Approximate Recording Limit

Author:

The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 can record 4K at 120 fps, but DJI specifies that 4K/120 is available only in Slow Motion mode.

What is normal 4K recording?

In normal video mode, DJI lists 4K 16:9 at 24, 25, 30, 48, 50, and 60 fps.

What is different about 4K/120?

120 fps captures many more frames each second so footage can be slowed down smoothly during playback. Pocket 3 treats that as a dedicated slow-motion mode rather than its standard 4K recording mode.

How long can one 4K/120 clip run?

DJI publishes an approximate maximum continuous recording time of 22 minutes for 4K/120 under 25 C laboratory conditions. DJI notes an approximate 18-minute figure in Europe.

Real runtime can change with ambient temperature, airflow, battery state, and other conditions.

Does a bigger memory card remove that limit?

No. A larger card increases storage capacity but does not remove a mode-specific single-recording or thermal limitation.

What card should you use?

Pocket 3 requires a microSD card and DJI recommends tested U3 and V30-class models. See the dedicated card guide for current capacity and card recommendations.
