DJI Osmo Pocket 3 External Microphone Compatibility: DJI Mic 2, Mic Mini, USB-C, and 3.5mm

Author:

The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 supports several external-audio paths, and the details matter because not every DJI microphone connects the same way.

DJI Mic 2 and Mic Mini

Pocket 3 can directly connect to compatible DJI Mic 2 and DJI Mic Mini transmitters. DJI says the camera can connect to two transmitters for two-person recording.

What about the original DJI Mic?

DJI says the original DJI Mic does not connect directly in the same way. It needs to be used with the DJI Mic Receiver plugged in.

Can a third-party microphone work?

Yes. DJI says third-party microphones can connect using USB-C digital audio or through a 3.5mm port adapter.

Does Pocket 3 already have built-in microphones?

Yes. DJI lists a three-microphone array and supports wind-noise reduction and directional audio features. An external microphone is mainly useful when you need the microphone closer to a speaker, want a wireless setup, or need a different pickup pattern.

Does the Battery Handle help with audio connections?

The Battery Handle has a rear USB-C port that DJI says can connect external audio devices such as wired digital microphones, wired headphones, or wireless microphone receivers.
