Yes. The GoPro HERO13 Black supports external microphones. GoPro provides two main official paths: the Media Mod and the Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter.
What does the Media Mod add?
The HERO13-compatible Media Mod wraps around the camera and adds:
- A built-in directional microphone
- A 3.5mm external microphone port
- HDMI output
- Two cold-shoe mounts for lights, microphones, and displays
What if you only need a 3.5mm microphone input?
GoPro’s Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter is also listed as compatible with HERO13 Black. It connects through USB-C and provides a 3.5mm input for a wide range of microphones, including stereo and line-level sources.
Does the camera itself have a normal 3.5mm mic jack?
No. A 3.5mm microphone requires an accessory such as the Media Mod or GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter.
Does Media Mod fit HERO13 Black even though the body changed?
Yes. GoPro specifically states that HERO13 Black still fits the same Media Mod used with HERO12 Black.
